BMW F82 M4 - 600hp with minimal mods.

While there is usual route to follow after stage 1 tuning, perhaps there is an alternative.

This is what we proposed with our shop F82 M4.

From out vast expertise tuning the S55 engine we noticed that one of the first limiting factors was the level of octance available. When running E5 99 pump fuel we were able to acheive approximately 520hp.

With an E10 petrol/ethanol blend the result was 565hp.

Curiosity would make us wonder what could be achievable with say E30 or E40, so we decided to fit a flex fuel system so we could accurately determine the mix.

This consisted of an ethanol sensor, Zeitronix ECA CAN Bus ethanol analyser wired into the loom with signals intercepted by the MHD platform.

Using MHD we could see the exact ethanol/petrol mix on the rev counter.

Further testing on the dyno suggested that the "sweet spot" was E35 which amounted to a staggering 608hp with 888Nm.

So that's over 600hp with stock downpipes, stock turbos and stock intakes!
